Christmas by Sea Parade now accepting applications | Arts & Culture

OAK ISLAND, NC (WECT) - The Macy’s Christmas Parade in New York is truly spectacular, and the Christmas by the Sea Parade in Oak Island is spectacular, too -- in a different way.

The Oak Island Parade allows friends and neighbors to line the streets to cheer in the holiday season as beautifully adorned homemade floats and decked out vehicles pass filled with local children, members of clubs and organizations, business people and local heroes. 

The Christmas by the Sea Parade on Oak Island is a local holiday tradition, and this year, it will be held on Saturday, December 1 at 2 p.m.

It will start out on 46th Street and travel along Oak Island Drive to McGlamery Street.   

There are plenty of places to watch the parade, and with the completion of the second bridge. getting to and from Oak Island is much easier.  

The parade is an event of and organized by the Southport-Oak Island Area Chamber of Commerce in full cooperation with the Town of Oak Island and Town of Caswell Beach.
