Low Income Energy Assistance Program opens to the public | Business

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) – The Low Income Energy Assistance Program will open to the general public in Brunswick County Friday.

According to a spokesperson for the county, the application period is Feb. 1 – March 31 with no age restrictions.

Residents can apply 8:15 a.m. – 2:45 p.m. at social services in building B, adult services section. Be sure to sign in at the annex building at the government complex.

Families must meet all of the following:

1. Household must meet an income test.
2. Household must be responsible for its heating bills.
3. Household cannot have resources over $2,200.
4. The household must include a U.S. citizen or an eligible alien.
