Surprise proposal caught on cam

WHITEVILLE, NC (WECT) – One lucky woman in Whiteville recently got the surprise of her life…and it was all caught on camera.

Kat Newton’s boyfriend, Kyle, orchestrated an elaborate surprise proposal at Collier’s Jewelers.

She hosts a show called Brunswick Biz for ATMC and thought an interview with a jeweler at the business was just part of the job. Instead, her fiancé showed up on one knee to surprise her.

You can watch the entire proposal in the video above or by clicking here if you're on a mobile phone.

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Brunswick County is moving forward with plans to expand their 911 communications center.

In 2012, the county was awarded a $2 million grant for construction of a new facility that would sit behind the current building.

County Commissioners will decide on awarding $200,000 to an architectural and engineering team to aid with the design at next week's meeting.

The new facility would be 10,000 square feet and house the new 911 call center along with storage and offices.

The building would be designed to, one day, connect with the current building.
