BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Members of the Southport-Oak Island Area Chamber of Commerce were busy networking with each other this week at the March Business Networking After Hours held at EZ Wireless U.S. Cellular store in Southport.  

The next Business Networking After Hours will be held on Wednesday, April 17 .

Chowder Cook-Off Winners Announced

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) - The 3rd Annual N.C. 4th of July Festival Chowder Cook-Off was held Sunday, March 10th at the Oak Island Moose Lodge.  

The Cook-Off  is a fun community event which is held to raise funds for the annual N.C. 4th of July Festival,  Jennifer Moore, First Citizens Bank chaired the Cook-Off and was pleased with the show of support for the festival. 

Entertainment was provided by Lynda Snyder with door prizes donated by The Adventure Kayak Company, Cape Fear Fitness, Color Me Carolina, Cox Quality Furniture and Harold W. Wells & Son, Inc. 

The N.C. 4th of July Festival will be held July 2 - 4th in Southport with a special Beach Day on Oak Island July 1.

The Southport-Oak Island Area Chamber of Commerce recently held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new location of Stifel Nicolaus, a full-service investment firm.   

Founded in 1890, Stifel Nicolaus is based in St. Louis, MO and operated more than 310 offices in 44 states, DC and 3 European locations.

SOUTHPORT, NC (WECT) - Organizers of an event in Brunswick County are showing off the best local products and services.

The 3rd Annual Coastal Consumer Showcase will take place on Thursday, March 7 from 4:00 - 7:30 p.m. at the Saint James Community Center.

There will be samples of a variety of products and services offered by area businesses. Admission is free.

There will be food and wine samples and a raffle. One raffle ticket will be given to all those who attend and register, and there will be additional tickets for sale.

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Southport-Oak Island Area Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting Ceremony celebrated the new expansion of the Harold W. Wells & Son office at 1418 N. Howe Street, Southport. 

The addition doubled the space of the previous office.

Oak Island Deli & Pub under new management

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) - The Southport-Oak Island Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new management at Oak Island Deli & Pub.

The pub is located at 5422 E. Oak Island Drive, Oak Island.  

David Gilbreath and Colleen Schech teamed up to offer hamburgers, sub sandwiches, salads, wraps, seafood, daily drink specials and some of the islands greatest bartenders.  You can watch multiple flat screen televisions and play darts or billiards while enjoying a delicious meal.

Southport-Oak Island Area Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with the City of Southport, Sanco Homes and Willetts Properties of Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage, recently held a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for Southport Way.   

Southport Way, a new neighborhood located off Robert Ruark Drive in Southport, features a series of cottages ranging from $169,900 to $229,900 called the Southport Collection, designed with the look of the old historic charm of Southport with new home appeal.
