Middle, high school students in Brunswick Co. participate in science fair | Community Spirit

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) – The middle and high school students in Brunswick County competed against each other in the district’s science fair on Wednesday at Odell Williamson Auditorium.

Here is a list of division winners provided by spokesperson Jessica Swencki:

Biological A

• First place-Katy Rollings, South Brunswick Middle, “Eat your iron”
• Second place-Lilah Foster, South Brunswick Middle, “Baldhead Island deer population estimation”
• Third place-Chirstian Smith, Cedar Grove Middle, “The mighty egg”

Biological B

• First place-Maddie Winchester, Leland Middle, “Burning up”
• Second place-Alexandra Szalkiewicz, North Brunswick High, “You can run, but you can’t stop making CO2”
• Third place-Kendal Gore, Cedar Grove Middle, “Plants on painkillers”

Chemistry

• First place-Hannah Helms, South Brunswick Middle, “Where’s the heat?”
• Second place-Trent Hewett, Waccamaw, “Biodiesel-veggie or fats?”

Physics

Technology/Engineering
