Century-old Live Oak dedicated to Public Works dept.
BALD HEAD ISLAND, NC (WECT) – The public is invited to a dedication ceremony Monday morning for the Public Works Live Oak Tree.
According to a press released, the Live Oak is over a hundred years old and has been accepted by the Like Oak Society.
The tree is being dedicated as the “Public Works Live Oak” because of its proximity to the Public Works department and in honor of their many contributions to the beauty and enjoyment of Bald Head Island.
A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place Monday morning near 271 Edward Teach Extension at 10:30 a.m.
