SOUTHPORT, NC (WECT) – Folks in Southport are getting ready to celebrate the Valentine’s Day premiere of the movie Safe Haven.
In January, leaders in Southport approved $14,500 for the movie premiere, as the movie was filmed locally and hundreds played roles in the film.
In honor of the premiere Thursday, a big crowd is scheduled to get together watch the film hit the big screen.
Folks who are going to the event are paying $50 per person for a 1:30 p.m. showing of the movie at Surf Cinemas, along with a commemorative T-shirt and an after-party with dinner and drinks at the Southport Community Building.
