BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Students at South Brunswick Middle School may have a few years until they can officially exercise their right to vote but this week they will have the opportunity to experience the democratic process.
Thanks to the Pearson Foundation National Mock election, all students can cast his/her vote Thursday, November 1.
The ballot includes official candidates for president/vice president, 7th district representative, and governor. To simulate a true voting experience, art students have designed campaign posters and members of the student council will serve as poll workers.
Voting will begin in the media center at 8:25 a.m. and will conclude by 10:20 a.m. Results from the mock election will be available Monday, November 5.
