 South Brunswick Interchurch Council to host annual spring concert

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) – The South Brunswick Interchurch Council will host the 10th annual spring concert this Sunday.

The event is free, but a love offering will be taken and attendees are requested to bring non-perishable food items for the South Brunswick Interchurch Council food pantry.

The concert will take place May 19, 3-5 p.m. at Calabash Presbyterian Church located on Old Georgetown Road.

The event will feature church choirs, church group and area talent. Refreshments will be served.

BOLIVIA, NC (WECT) - "Wouldn't it be nice" if The Beach Boys played a concert in Brunswick County this summer?

You're in luck.  The classic group plans to play a concert at Odell Williamson Auditorium this August.

The Beach Boys will perform on Thursday, August 29th at 7:30 p.m. Tickets will go on sale at the box office and online at bccowa.com at 9 a.m. on Thursday May 13th.

The tickets will sell for $69.  There will also be fifty VIP tickets available for the first three rows, which will include a meet and greet session with Mike Love.  Those VIP tickets will go for $152 a piece.

Enjoy a free concert at BCC this weekend

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) – The Brunswick Concert Band from Brunswick Community College is hosting a free concert Sunday.

Pack some snacks and grab your lawn chairs to listen to some local talent for a day filled with fun for the whole family.

The event will be held on the lawn in front of the Odell Williamson Auditorium at 3:00 p.m.

In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be held indoors.

Stephen King visits Southport

SOUTHPORT, NC (WECT) – Author Stephen King was in Southport recently on the set of a new TV series based on his novel of the same name.

The show’s Video Effects Supervisor, Stephan Fleet, sent in the photo above, picturing himself and King. Fleet says the crew has enjoyed being in Southport, and the project has gone well so far.

If you are looking for quality family entertainment--our own rendition of American Idol--save Saturday, February 2, for a special fun time! 

Spotlight on Talent, Brunswick County School's annual high-school talent show, will be held at 7:00 PM at Odell Williamson Auditorium on the campus of Brunswick Community College.  The outstanding student acts come from South Brunswick High School, North Brunswick High School, West Brunswick High School, and the Early College High School. 

There will be no admission charge; however, donations for the county's choral music program are always appreciated.  We also encourage those coming to bring non-perishable food or beverage items so that we can help restock our local food pantry. 

Join our Master of Ceremony, Jon Evans from WECT, and come prepared to be amazed as we showcase our very talented students!

‘Teen Mom 2’ star Jenelle Evans pregnant with second child

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Teen Mom 2 cast member Jenelle Evans is pregnant for the second time, according to an Instagram picture the reality star posted, along with tweets posted to her Twitter account.

The 21-year-old Oak Island native posted a picture of herself Thursday with the caption “Baby bumpppp. My little angel !” and revealed in a tweet to one of her followers that she’s seven weeks pregnant.

The father is Jenelle’s husband, 26-year-old Courtland Rogers.

'Teen Mom 2' to get divorce after 26 days of marriage

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) – After less than a month of being married, MTV’s Teen Mom 2 Jenelle Evans is getting a divorced.

According to reports, the Oak Island native left her new husband, Courtland Rogers, just after 26 days.

 The Clicker on Today reports Evans tweeted about divorce last week after a late-night outing, but later deleted them.

Evan’s most recent tweet says she’s deactivating her account.
