Wastewater spill reported in Calabash | Environment
CALABASH, NC (WECT) - Brunswick County Public Utilities reported a discharge of untreated wastewater last week in Calabash.
The spill of about 8,500 gallons came from a 6" force main sewer on Ocean Highway US 17 and Hickman Road NW last Friday.
According to a release, the discharge was caused by a cracked line that was nicked earlier. County workers contained it and got rid of the waste.
