Search continues for new interim town manager in Oak Island | News

OAK ISLAND, NC (WECT) - The search is on for yet another town manager in Oak Island.

Mayor Pro Tem Jim Medlin says that current Interim Town Manager Chad Hicks' last day is Friday.

Hicks is leaving the town for a position in Caswell Beach.

Medlin said the town interviewed a candidate last week. Tom Taylor, who used to be the interim town manager in North Topsail, was interviewed by board members.

Medlin said another interview is scheduled for Thursday, and town leaders have scheduled a special meeting.

They plan to discuss pending litigation at that meeting.

The town has asked the N.C. League of Municipalities for help in its search.

Medlin said they hope to fill the position as soon as possible.
