Town of Oak Island reaches deal with former town manager | News

OAK ISLAND, NC (WECT) - The Town of Oak Island and former Town Manager Jerry Walters have reached a settlement.

According to Walter's attorney, the town has agreed to pay him $120,000 to settle the lawsuit.

Walters sued the town after they refused to pay his severance package as promised in his contract in the event he should leave his position.

His contract originally called for a little more than $150,000.

Walters is glad to put this issue behind him and to move on in his future, according to his attorney.
