OAK ISLAND, NC (WECT) – The Town of Oak Island could be offering more parking spaces to visitors making a trip to the beach.
In 2008, the town implemented a program that secured parking spaces at beach accesses for residents and property owners. Town council also took action to make sure the areas not specified for residents were listed as “No Parking” zones.
However, years later, they are considering removing those “No Parking” zones along Southeast 71st and 72nd streets.
Oak Island Town Council will vote Tuesday night on whether or not to allow parking on the right-of-ways in this area.
Council needs to vote on this issue in order to remove the signs.
