SOUTHPORT, NC (WECT) - According to NCDOT news release, The bridge preservation work on N.C. 211, previously scheduled for Sunday, June 24, has been rescheduled for until Monday, July 8 due to Independence Day activities in the city of Southport.
Amanda Glenn with the Bridge Maintenance Dept. says they have been in contact with the city of Southport and with concerns of weather delays and busy activities planned for Independence day, they decided this would work out better for commuters.
The NCDOT will close N.C. 211 between N.C. 87 and Dosher Cutoff SE each night from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. until Monday, July 15.
Crews are working on preservation work on the bridge located on N.C. 211 over the Duke Energy Progress Discharge Canal.
NC DOT crews ask drivers to take NC 133 (Dosher Cutoff SE) to NC 87 (River Road) back to NC 211 (N. Howe Street).
