NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – The Red Cross is already getting ready for Hurricane Sandy, and they say you should be too.
They're recommending that people get their hurricane kits ready. That means, a three day supply of food and water - plus batteries and flashlights.
The Red Cross has spent the day getting ready, organizing its volunteers who will head to the hardest hit places to help.
Friday morning, the Red Cross will have a conference call with top officials. They think they will have a better idea where the storm will hit by then.
David Garrison , who is with the red cross, says it's a challenge figuring out where to put resources so early - but their volunteers are ready to go as soon as they get the call.
So, what do you need to do right now?
Garrison says first-stay informed and also, get your hurricane kits ready. Click here for a list of emergency supplies to have on hand.
