BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) – An MTV reality show cast member and her ex-fiancé were arrested on Sunday in Brunswick County.

Jenelle Evans, who stars on Teen Mom 2, was charged with simple assault, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and simple possession of a schedule four controlled substance, according to Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Del Routh.

Gary Head, who Evans said on her Twitter account is her ex-fiancé, was charged with assault on a female and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Evans is being represented by Dustin R.T. Sullivan, an attorney in Bolivia. He said Evans contacted 911 around 8:30 a.m. for a domestic disturbance and that she “obviously felt threatened for her safety.”

She remained in jail until Monday afternoon, when she posted a $500 bail. Sullivan did not know who bailed her out, but he did say that Evans’ mom, Barbara, was at the jail.

“She’s still pretty shook up from what happened to her Sunday morning,” Sullivan said.

“Went to the hospital yesterday for my injuries thank God im fine. New chapter as opened in my life and im pretty excited,” Evans tweeted. “Yes I left him becuz he was caught cheating. He did something to me that was physical and tramatizing.”

She also tweeted that her son Jace was not there when the alleged incident occurred.

Head, who is a Marine living in Jacksonville, is being represented by court-appointed attorney Bryan D. Wilson, of Bolivia. A court date has been set for July 30.
